Our proprietary system combines two sound-based modalities in a single in-home session to deliver permanent fat removal and visible skin tightening at the same appointment.
Acoustic lipolysis (ultrasonic cavitation) for permanent fat removal: Low-frequency acoustic waves create microscopic bubbles that expand and collapse in the subcutaneous fat layer. This cavitation ruptures fat cell membranes and liquefies their contents, which the body then clears permanently.
HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) for skin tightening: Concentrated ultrasound energy is focused at a precise depth in the deep dermis and fibromuscular layer – the same foundational layers addressed in a surgical facelift. Collagen fibers contract immediately for an instant tightening effect, then new collagen forms over the following months. This is the mechanism behind our non-surgical facelift and neck lift treatments.

CoolSculpting is the brand name for cryolipolysis, or “cold-induced fat destruction.” It works because fat cells crystallize at a higher temperature than skin cells do.
A gel pad is applied, and then an applicator with cooling panels uses vacuum suction to pull pinchable tissue between the plates.
The area is held cold for roughly 35 to 75 minutes depending on the applicator, triggering apoptosis – gradual cell death.
Over one to three months, the immune system clears the dead cells as waste.
Cryolipolysis reduces fat volume only. It does not stimulate collagen or tighten skin, and tissue must fit inside the applicator cup for treatment to work.
Sound-based sculpting: A dual mechanism – acoustic pressure waves rupture fat cell membranes from within, while HIFU heats deeper tissue to rebuild collagen. Energy can be tuned to different depths and intensities in the same visit.

CoolSculpting: An in-office procedure that begins with strong suction and intense cold, stinging, or aching for the first 5–10 minutes until the area numbs. After the applicator is removed, the frozen tissue is vigorously massaged to break up crystallized fat, which many patients find uncomfortable. Tissue often feels firm, swollen, and tender afterward, with numbness lasting weeks.
Sound-based sculpting: Handheld applicators are moved across the surface, following the contour of the body. Sasha Gonet can sculpt and feather treatment across large zones like the abdomen and flanks as well as small, delicate areas – the jawline and under-chin, neck, upper arms, and post-weight-loss laxity.
CoolSculpting: Limited to pre-shaped applicators that require adequate suction on a pinchable bulge. If your anatomy doesn’t match an applicator, the area goes untreated or treated unevenly – and applicator edges are a common source of visible ridges, “shelving,” or a “shark bite” step-off.

Both approaches permanently eliminate the fat cells they successfully destroy. The difference is scope.
Sound-based sculpting: Reduces fat and builds collagen. Many patients notice immediate improvement in skin firmness, with fat reduction appearing over several weeks – a change in shape supported by firmer skin.
CoolSculpting: Reduces fat volume only, with results apparent over two to four months. If skin was already loose, removing the fat underneath can leave a softer, more deflated appearance. Multiple sessions may be needed.
Neither treatment requires traditional recovery, but side effects differ sharply.
Sound-based sculpting: Excellent safety profile with minimal side effects, such as mild redness and warmth. Energy is highly focused, protecting non-targeted tissue. The main considerations are correct depth and intensity settings and appropriate candidate selection – which is why we require an in-person consultation.
CoolSculpting: Commonly causes redness, swelling, bruising, cramping, aching, firmness, or numbness lasting from a few days to several weeks. Some patients experience delayed-onset discomfort several days after treatment. There is also a risk of paradoxical adipose hyperplasia – an abnormal enlargement of fat areas after the procedure.
Work backward from what actually bothers you in the mirror. A soft jawline, fullness under the chin, crepey arms, or a midsection that lost tone after weight loss is a skin-and-fat problem – so the most suitable choice will be sound-based sculpting.
If the issue is a single firm bulge with tight skin over it and nothing else, fat freezing may accomplish what you want, though sound-based treatment will still address it without cold or suction.
